SNEHANA - Ayurvedic Massage Workshop
Time & Location
About The Event
SNEHANA comes from the sanskrit word "Sneha" which encompasses many meanings including "to nurture, to love, to heal, kindness and compassion" - these are all qualities that a giver of Snehana should transmit, and the receiver should experience. In an Ayurvedic clinic the patient is oleated with specially prepared herbalized warm oils before entering the bashpa yantra (steam box). The experience of receiving Snehana can be very profound when given in the right way. It is deeply calming, nurturing and balancing, releasing toxins at all levels - physical, emotional and mental. The style of the massage is specific to Ayurveda and is traditionally given by two practitioners but can also be given by one.
In accordance with Ayurvedic tradition, this will be a workshop for women only.
The workshop is open to anyone, no need to have prior experience or training in massage - you may wish to learn Ayurvedic massage to give to friends and family, or you may be a qualified massage therapist looking to broaden your practice.
